EMBERS
This piece was commissioned by a customer but so sadly lost in the post (despite being tracked and signed for on a 24-hour service!). I was so heartbroken by this, as not only had I put so much love and time into producing it, but I really loved the piece. Inspired by a colour palette of teal and deep blue-black, this piece developed over hours of inky washes of paint. By chance, a fleck of paint had remained on the painting which looked like a singe-mark. This inspired the rest of the piece and its’ name - Embers. I continued to add details of paint and oil stick to look like the teal wash had been singed by flame and the lower half of the image, burnt black. The colour of the Prussian Blue ink separated chromatically through the washes of spraying it, revealing a beautiful golden mark, which looked like the traces of a flame or a light spot. The result, was a beautifully captivating, subtle yet stunning piece. As an ode to it being lost in the post, I decided to release it as a print, so that its’ grounding and meditative quality can add to other spaces.
All prints are printed on Unicorn White Heavy 300gsm paper in full colour, with a matte finish. Unframed prints will arrive in a cello bag, with greyboard backing.
*Given that artwork cannot be easily printed at the same ratio at which the original was painted, all prints are optimised for print quality at whatever size you order. For your print to look truly remarkable we recommend for it to be framed with a mount.
